Banco Macro presents its Sixth Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Tucumán, October 25, 2013. Banco Macro presented its Sixth Corporate Social Responsibility Report accounting for its progress in sustainability management, thus securing its strategy on a federal basis.

For the purpose of presenting the information included in its 2012 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, Banco Macro followed the guidelines of Guide G3.1 of the Global Report Initiative (GRI), increasing the number of answered indicators by 26% and achieving, for the first time, a B Application Level.

In 2012 Banco Macro reinforced its CSR strategy and defined 5 pillars that reflect the material issues of the bank, the financial sector, the local context and its stakeholders. These are: Transparency in everything we do, Responsibility for the well-being and inclusion of people, Inclusion and Financial Education, Development of small companies and business ventures and direct and indirect environmental Impact.

The Bank also increased its work in education and financial inclusion, development in products and services for low-income people, and supporting companies and ventures as economic growth engines.

Other significant actions conducted during 2012 include the brush up on the Ethics and Conduct Code, the creation of the Ethics and Compliance Committee, the coordination of CSR training events for Small Company Banking clients and suppliers of Buenos Aires, Rosario and Córdoba, the launching of campaigns, contests and projects on environmental awareness, the E-Commitment campaign adhesion of more than 207,000 clients who accepted to receive e-account statements and the increase of social investment to 13 million pesos, thus benefitting more than 268,000 people, working jointly with 79 civil organizations, as well as schools and universities.

The presentation was made at Hilton Garden Inn hotel, by Milagro Medrano, Institutional Relations Manager, and Claudio Cerezo, Director of Banco Tucumán Grupo Macro, before a large audience attended by local authorities, social sector entities and the media of the Province of Tucumán.

As Milagro Medrano stated "The core issues we tackle summarize the financial industry’s main sustainability trends and the issues on which we are willing to focus throughout Argentina, given that they refer directly to the context and to the sustainable management of our business". She also ratified Banco Macro’s commitment towards all the communities where the Bank is present.
