Banco Macro presents its Seventh Sustainability Report

Buenos Aires, September 4, 2014. Banco Macro presents its 2013 Seventh Sustainability Report, reflecting social, environmental and economic initiatives and projects reaffirming its commitment to Argentina’s development and growth.

Banco Macro is a bank devoted to rendering services at the federal level, actually the bank is the single banking institution in 168 districts in Argentina, with a network of 1,173 ATMs, 888 self-service terminals and more than 8,700 employees throughout the Argentine provinces.

In line with its financial education initiative, during 2013 Banco Macro provided financial training courses to more than 100,000 senior citizens. Additionally, "mini branches" visited several areas in the provinces of Salta, Misiones, Tucumán and Córdoba, providing basic economic and financial concepts to more than 5,000 children.

In furtherance of its commitment to local communities where the bank is present, Banco Macro invested, through Fundación Banco Macro, 11 million pesos and fostered financial education projects, local development programs and entrepreneurs support programs together with 95 social organizations. A total of 195,210 people participated in such programs.

As to its environmental commitment, Banco Macro strives to reduce direct and indirect environmental impact arising from its operations. Accordingly, it develops internal and external awareness campaigns addressed at reducing the consumption of energy, paper, plastic and other materials. In 2013, Banco Macro managed to save energy by 19%, 4% more than in 2012, thus reducing its carbon trace.

For the presentation of the 2013 Sustainability Report Banco Macro migrated to the New G4 Guideline of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), according to the "In Accordance" criteria and reaching the "Core" option. Thus, the Bank faced the challenge of carrying out an analysis of Material Aspects and preparing a report mainly focused on the most relevant aspects for its business and its stakeholders.
