Banco Macro continues conducting the "Eco Bikes" Program in the Province of Mendoza

Mendoza, February 20, 2015. In line with its commitment towards the communities where it operates, Banco Macro continues conducting the "Eco Bikes" (Eco Bicis) program in the Province of Mendoza, this time by inaugurating the "Luján de Cuyo Eco Bicis" whereby it will donate more than 200 bikes and accessories to the Municipality of Luján de Cuyo.

Bicycle storage stations, each with a storage capacity of 50 bicycles, shall be located at two strategic points within the district: the premises of Museo Americanista in Luján de Cuyo and the Municipal Delegation of Chacras de Coria.

The bikes shall be delivered at an event held on Friday, February 20th at 11:00 am at Plaza de Chacras de Coria, district of Luján de Cuyo. The event shall be attended by the Major of the district, Mr. Carlos López Puelles, the Regional Manager of Banco Macro, Mr. Francisco Torre; and municipal authorities.

Banco Macro plans to donate more than 1450 bikes in the frame of the "Eco Bikes" program, which is already implemented in Tilcara (Jujuy) and La Caldera (Salta), El Carmen (Jujuy), San Carlos (Salta), La Falda and Villa Giardino (Córdoba) and now in Luján de Cuyo.

As in the case of cities worldwide that attract a high volume of tourists, a station shall be installed where bikes shall be available for use free of charge. This initiative has circuits that will allow getting around the Municipalities in a different manner.

Banco Macro shall donate bikes, helmets, safety locks, baskets, bike stations and parking lots, in the frame of a program that intends to foster healthy practices, improve life quality, promote the use of bikes as transportation means for citizens, foster more efficient and less polluting transportation, promote physical activity and develop an activity for the whole family. All the donated goods have been purchased from suppliers from the Province of Salta.
