La Dolfina is the new champion of the Tortugas Country Club Open Polo Championship Great Macro Prize

Buenos Aires, October 17, 2016. Banco Macro, Official Sponsor of the Tortugas Country Club Open Polo Championship Great Macro Prize, awarded the cup to La Dolfina Sancor Seguros Polo Team, team that resulted champion in this first tournament of the 2016 Argentina Triple Crown, the one with the highest average handicap in the world.

In a contested and exciting match La Dolfina won over Ellerstina 18 to 12, the fifth ckukker being the one in which La Dolfina marked the difference and became the winner. Adolfo Cambiaso, the No. 1 player, was again the star of the match by making 11 goals. The defender of the Triple Crown won its tenth final in a row with its current team and reached 36 matches undefeated.

The six teams that disputed the 76th Emilio Anchorena Cup this year were La Dolfina Sancor Seguros Polo Team (40 goals de handicap), Ellerstina (39), Alegria (37), La Aguada-Las Monjitas (35), El Paraíso (35) and Washington (33).

The great final was attended by Luli Laprida, a true fan of polo matches, who watched attentively the whole match in the company of her boyfriend. Pablo Massey, another fan of polo matches, attended with his daughter and from their booth supported their favourite. Juan Cruz Bordeau was one of the most sociable attendees and spent most of the time at Espacio Macro talking with friends and the public. Milagros Brito celebrated Mother’s Day with her family, as was the case of Julieta Kemble, and after the match they joined the After Polo. Esmeralda Mitre was unable to stay until the end but enjoyed most of the match.

The news this year included two new 10-goal handicap players in Alegria (Guillermo "Sapo" Caset and Hilario Ulloa); the merger of La Aguada y L.A. Las Monjitas into one single team with four Novillo Astrada brothers (Alejandro, Eduardo, Miguel and Ignacio); and the debut in Tortugas of two very promissory teams: El Paraíso and Washington.

The teams include 10-goal handicap players such as Adolfo Cambiaso, Facundo Pieres, Juan Martín Nero, Gonzalo Pieres (h.), Polito Pieres, Pablo Mac Donough and
the Uruguayan player David Stirling.
